Shelf life
All broths and soups in pouches are delivered frozen. Once
received please put in the freezer immediately and follow the use by date, or
enjoy by thawing in the fridge and consuming within 7 days.
All broths in glass jars have a shelf life of 2 years.
All natural fats can be kept ambient. Refrigerate after
opening and keep up to 2 months.
Our collagen and gelatine have a shelf life of up to 4 years

FAQ's
Do you deliver internationally?
For the meantime, we’ve put international shipping on hold. This is due to customs issues, however we do still offer delivery within Asia, where OSSA UAE can handle shipments. In this case, if ordered through the UK website, this will need to be coordinated through UAE dispatch team.
How Should I store my broths when they arrive?
All broths and soups in pouches are delivered frozen in recyclable insulated boxes. Once received please put in the freezer immediately and follow the use by date, or enjoy by thawing in the fridge and consuming within 7 days.
All broths in glass jars have a shelf life of 2 years.
My broth arrived partially defrosted. Can I still put in the freezer?
Yes! Our guidance is that as long as there are still ice in the pouches they will be okay to store in the freezer for their full shelf-life.
Are your products certified Kosher/Halal?
Currently, only our grass-fed Collagen and pasture-raised Gelatine are certified kosher and halal.
Can I return my broths?
No, as our broths are perishable.
I got incorrect broths?
We will replace the incorrect broths once we have confirmed this to our warehouse team and we will resend it as soon as possible.
My Boost Jar has sediments, why is this?
In larger preparations, jars may have clear broths from the top of the pots, while some may contain sediments from the bottom parts of the pots, both derived from the protein elements in the bones.
What is the shelf-life of the Tallow and Ghee in jars?
After opening store in the refrigerator, or a cool pantry, for up to 2 months.
Can I amend my subscription?
You can amend the contents of your order/bundle subscriptions earlier than the set date by contacting us at hello@ossaorganic.com
If I use the broths in a recipe, can I freeze the portions?
Yes, if you use our broths as an ingredient in a recipe it becomes something new, with its own best before date. Depending on what you make, it may be suitable to portion out for freezing. Soups are especially great for this.
How many portions in a pouch?
For our standard pouches (500g) this will serve approximately 4 small cups, 2 large mug or 3 bowls.
Can I drink the bone broths cold?
Our broths must be brought to a boil before consuming, either by cooking in a recipe or heating then drinking. Once boiled, you can cool the broth and add it to a drink or recipe.
Can I microwave the frozen broths?
We don’t advise this. Instead, please defrost fully in the fridge before heating it on a pan.
Can I drink your broths during pregnancy?
As long as you stick to the storage and serving instructions, and use the product within the expiry date, our broths are usually suitable during pregnancy; However, please do seek your own medical advise if you’re unsure.
Is your beef grass-fed?
Yes, all the cattle that we work with are British and soil association organic.
The standards state that their diet must be mostly made up of grass (over 60%) this is more than just grass-finished and is known as grass-fed in the U.K.
Are your chickens free-range?
Yes, our broths are made from free-range chickens sourced from certified organic farms. They are fed on a mix of organic wheat, organic soya & organic sunflower.
What type of bones do you use?
We use a range of mixed organic bones to ensure minimal waste and variety of collagen and flavour. If you have any questions about a specific broth in our range, please do get in touch at hello@ossaorganic.com and we’ll be happy to help
Does Grass-Fed Collagen Cause Digestive Issues?
Grass-fed collagen is generally well-tolerated by most people. However, in some cases, it may cause digestive issues such as stomach discomfort, bloating, or diarrhea. This is especially true if:
You're sensitive to proteins as some people may have difficulty digesting certain proteins found in collagen and if you take it in high doses or consuming large amounts of collagen may upset your stomach If you’re not used to it. Introducing a new supplement can sometimes cause temporary digestive adjustments.
If you experience consistent stomachaches or diarrhea, we recommend reducing the dosage or consulting a healthcare professional to rule out other sensitivities or underlying conditions.
What are your next day delivery times?
Frozen Broths orders will be shipped on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday for
next-day delivery.
Ambient Broths orders will be shipped on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and
Thursday for next-day delivery.
Mixed orders of Frozen and Ambient Broths placed on Thursday, Friday,
Saturday, and Sunday will be shipped starting on Monday for next-day delivery.
What time should I expect delivery?
All deliveries are made between 8:00am and 6:00pm. Some couriers may provide a time slot, but you are required to be available all day as delays can occur. If not, an authorised person must be available on the day of the delivery. The courier may also need to contact you on the day of delivery by
telephone.
What if I am unavailable when the delivery arrives?
If we attempt to deliver and you are not available, you may be liable for re delivery and costs incurred. If you think you cannot be available on the day, please organise an alternative (leave to neighbour or leave in a safe place).
What do I do if I have missing items?
In the case of missing items, we need to investigate further. We always ensure a
pre-dispatch photo for each order, so we can check with the team to confirm if
the correct items were sent out. If the photo shows the order was complete, we’ll send the image to you for your reference. But if the dispatch photo shows missing items, we’ll send them out accordingly to complete your order.
If your entire parcel is missing, we need to check with thoroughly if the parcel
was damaged in transit, or if it was misplaced by the courier, so we rectify
accordingly.
What if my parcel is lost?
If your order is marked as delivered but we can’t find it, please check with family members, neighbours, or building staff who might have received it for them. If we still can’t locate the parcel, reach out to our customer service team within 48 hours of the delivery confirmation.
What if my parcel arrived damaged on delivery?
We need to investigate these damaged parcels thoroughly and will ask for a photo for our reference. If the products are damaged internally, meaning from our side or the courier, the responsible party can either issue a refund or replace them (whichever is best for you).
Can I modify my order?
If you need to change the order address, please reach out as an urgency so we
can rectify before the order is fulfilled. If the order is unfulfilled, this is the only
time we can update, remove, or change the delivery address. However, once an order is fulfilled, we cannot modify it. Any modification request please email our customer service at hello@ossaorganic.com
Return to Sender
If you provide an incorrect address and do not adjust before the order is fulfilled, you will be responsible for covering the fee for the return label cost. We will send an invoice, and once the payment is done, we will resend the order to the correct address.
Can I return my order if unused?
If you would like to return an unused item, we ask that it be sent back in a good condition and unopened. Returns should be sent to UNIT 33D, NUMBER ONE, INDUSTRIAL ESTATE, CONSETT, DH8 6SZ. Once we receive the item in good order, we can then process the refund accordingly.
What’s the difference between ambient broths jars and frozen broths?
Our frozen broths have a richer taste profile compared to our ambient broths
which are intentionally salt-free. These options allow flexibility to choose between our pre-seasoned frozen broths, and our unseasoned ambient selection.
Can ambient broths jars stored in a freezer?
The broth jars should not be frozen, as the glass may crack. Instead, they can be stored at room temperature, such as in a pantry or cupboard, until the expiry date.
What’s the bone broth content in a jar?
Lamb 515ml – 35%
Chicken 515ml – 46%
Beef 515ml – 39%
Why has the bone broth bone percentage changed?
While you may notice a change in bone percentage, nothing has changed within the actual product for our ambient jars. We have changed the representation of the bone percentage to represent percentage of bone including water content.
What is your sterilization policy for ambient bone broth jars?
All our jars are carefully sterilized to eliminate bacteria, ensuring longevity while
maintaining purity. The sterilization process extends the shelf life of our broths.
Do your ambient bone broths contain additives?
As they are certified EU organic, they contain no additives.
How do you use Collagen?
Our Collagen can be incorporated into coffee, food, particularly in baked goods,
bread, homemade ice cream, soups, stews, smoothies, and more.
What type of collagen do you provide?
Type III, sourced from Grass-Fed Bovine and it is made from Hide, which is the
natural skin of a cow removed and treated to extract their collagen protein.
Is your Ossa Collagen safe during pregnancy?
Yes, grass-fed collagen is generally considered safe during pregnancy and can be very beneficial. It provides essential amino acids that support skin elasticity, joint health, and hair and nail strength, which can be particularly helpful during pregnancy.
Please note, it’s always best to consult your doctor or healthcare professional
before taking Ossa Collagen – especially if you have any underlying health conditions or are on medication.
What is recommended daily intake of Ossa Collagen for kids?
1-2 tablespoon per day. It is recommended to consult a doctor or healthcare professional before giving collagen to children to ensure it is suitable for their age
and nutritional needs.
What is the difference between supermarket honey and Ossa Raw Honey?
Regular honey found in supermarkets generally undergo extensive processing,
pasteurization, and filtration. Raw Honey remains unrefined and unpasteurized,
preserving its natural enzymes, antioxidants, and pollen. It is completely pure, free from additives, and promotes digestion, immunity, and wound healing,
making it the more nutritious choice.
Why should I use ghee butter?
Ghee is lactose- and casein-free, making it easier to digest. It has a higher smoke point than butter, making it ideal for high-heat cooking. Rich in healthy fats (MCTs & Omega-3s), it supports brain, heart, and digestive health. It’s also nutrient-dense, containing essential vitamins (A, D, E, and K) for immunity and metabolism. Additionally, it doesn’t require refrigeration.
My Tallow is solid, why does this happen?
Tallow naturally solidifies when left unused for an extended period, especially in cooler temperatures. This is completely normal.
How can I use solidified Tallow?
Simply scoop out the amount you need and heat in a pan and it will quickly melt into liquid form, making it easy to use for cooking or skincare.
